A Horse Called Bicycle, The Polo Diaries Book 2
Roxy
found love . . . but is it enough?
In
the second installment of the Polo Diaries series, polo player
Roxy
goes back to Argentina a year after the events in Single in Buenos Aires,
filled with dreams of settling down with the man she loves. This time, once
again, Argentina is full of surprises and things are not what they appear to
be. Or maybe they’re exactly what they’re meant to be, as a fortune-teller
informs her.
Roxy
takes a leap of faith and follows her dreams once again. She spends time at
glamorous party venues of Buenos Aires and travels to the rough and wild
pampas. Along the way, Roxy’s friends support and champion her quest for love,
but when things get out of hand, Roxy realizes she needs to listen to her own
inner voice and must make a hard choice. Two paths open in front of her, each
one with far-reaching consequences. Which will she choose?
THOUGHTS/REVIEW:
A Horse Called Bicycle by Roxana Valea (Polo Diaries Book #2)
This second installment of the Polo Diaries series, 41 year old polo player Roxy goes back to Argentina after seeking some advice from three different crystal fortune tellers who gives her three different scenarios about her love life. Determined to believe a happily ever after story, she goes back to try to rekindle her love affair with the young man 14 years her junior she fell in love with a year ago.
Roxy’s polo hobby has gotten out of hand with another injury falling off a horse and this time requiring major surgery after a collarbone break. Decisions have to be made and to re-evaluate what she really truly loves in her life. Does Roxy hang on with a single thread to polo which she continually risks her life for? How about the love affair so toxic she continually gets her heart broken? No matter what, these two passions keep breaking her physically and mentally. Is it time for changes to be made?
Roxy is an amazingly strong woman who has survived major catastrophes in her life from jumping out of a plane and the parachute not working only to be saved at the very last moment, multiple gun point hold ups in Africa and a series of serious car accidents. Not to mention all her injuries from falling off horses from polo. Can she survive this challenge she is faced with here in Argentina?
In this installment, I love that Roxy finds the wisdom to finally see for herself and her future - to finally take care of herself. In her introspection and sound advice from her friends who truly love her, she travels to India and Thailand to discover Ayurvedic medicine, yoga and more importantly, what she needs to truly love, herself.
I recommend this read for an inspirational story based on real life events about a strong woman in this amazing women’s fiction read.
