Really excited for this first book in a series by Julia Firlotte. – a first love summer romance full of intrigue, lust and lies. Yes indeed there was and I really enjoyed this debut novel.
Ella moves from England to rural Kansas with her sisters after the passing of their father. Life is tough and jobs are scarce. Ella’s life here in the states is difficult and despite their desire to start a new life, things are just not going their way from financial difficulties to getting into trouble with loan sharks. Ella our protagonist is strong but quite shelters, shy and naïve. The moment Ella meets Adam, sparks fly and there is an obvious and undeniable attraction.
Firlotte writes and builds up a great storyline with a naïve young woman and a mysterious older and more experienced gentleman. The characters were well written and the build up of the suspense is incredible. I thought that the writing moved quickly and what a page turner this was. I really enjoyed it and I cannot wait for the next installment of this series.
