ARIA TOUR - RUBY By Heather Burnside

PUB DATE: 5th December 2019
PUB: ARIA

About the book

The stronger sex.

Ruby has always been strong. Growing up with a feeble mother and an absent father, she is forced to fight the battles of her younger siblings. And when a childhood experience leaves her traumatised, her distrust of men turns to hatred.

On the streets.

With no safe place to call home, Ruby is desperate to fit in with the tough crowd. She spends her teenage years sleeping around and drinking in the park, and by the time she is sixteen, prostitution has become a way of life. But Ruby has ambitions, and she soon moves up the ladder to become the madam of her own brothel.

The brothel.

But being in charge of a brothel has its down sides, Ruby faces her worst nightmare when an enemy from the past comes back into her life, and gang intimidation threatens to ruin everything. Can she find a way to beat her tormentors? And will she be strong enough to see it through?

Heather Burnside is back with this breath-taking, heart-racing series, perfect for all fans of Kimberley Chambers and Martina Cole.

Thoughts/Review:

Heather Burnside is an author that I will have to keep an eye on. My first book of hers but certainly quickly has become my favorite after reading this new release. Though this is the second book of the Working Girls series, and have not had the chance quite yet of picking that up, this book worked great as a standalone.

What I really enjoyed the most are the amazing characters she writes about. They are strong yet also quite vulnerable. Their stories are so addicting and it leaves me wanting to read more about them.

The writing style is simply exciting and grips me from the start. Fair warning, if you are going to pick this book up, make sure that you have everything you need like an empty bladder and your nice cup of tea and blankets next to you, because you are probably not going to want to get up because Heather's writing will keep you turning those pages.

Ruby has such an amazing back story and I loved the alternating timelines to really understand the full experience of the character.

Highly recommend this amazing read.
